Today is a very exciting day because I will share with you how to have fun while learning the English language through songs. I know there are a bunch of songs out there, so let me help you choose the song that will help you improve your English skills.
We have to start by identifying the type of music or genre you like because basically you will not listen to music that you are not into. Are you the kind of a person who likes to relax? Or someone who enjoys upbeat music? You need to identify if you like acoustic, jazz, pop, country songs etc. Or maybe you are someone who enjoys all kinds of music, well that sounds really good.
Next is identify the anthem of the song that you are in the mood to listen to. Is it a love song, inspirational song, or something like sad music? I'm saying this because identifying the anthem of the song will help you understand the heart of the music, it’s like giving you a glimpse of what the song really means.
The good thing about learning through music is it helps you improve your pronunciation, memorization, reading and listening skills. You get to listen to it whether you are inside the train or preparing for work. You don’t have to fully understand the whole lyrics on the first day you listened to the track. Most of the time the meaning of the song can be identified through its rhythm, or beat that’s why without even looking at the dictionary you would know what is the meaning of it. You would also be able to identify how the words were used in the song and that will help you learn how to associate those words with emotions because a song primarily reflects our feelings. So start by simply listening to it, then read the lyrics. If there are words you really can’t understand check the meaning of it so you will be able to fully understand the track. And lastly, don’t forget to sing along, that will help you improve your pronunciation and memorization.
